If I Attend the 2017 M6 Lions District Convention,
What Will I Get Out of It?

~ The hospitality room on Friday evening will give you the leisure time to visit with friends, make new friends, Visit with Int’l Director Lion Joyce Middleton, share ideas, and enjoy assorted snacks and beverages. You may want to attend one of the area’s shows then stop by before and/or afterwards.

~ Gain a greater understanding of Lions’ programs and projects that the district supports and how your club might help to meet the goals of Saving Sight, Kids Sight, Hearing, All-Star Basketball Classic, Lions Twin
Basketball Classic, State Football Game, LCIF, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Mid South Sight and Hearing, and World Services for the Blind.

~ Remember Lions that have passed from our clubs this year and honor them for their years of service using the Lions Rose Ceremony.

~ Hear updates from Int’l Director Lion Joyce Middleton that the International Board of Directors is working on to improve our association.

~ Gain knowledge from three informative programs that will challenge your club for possible new service projects that could be used in your communities:
 M-6 Meeting the Centennial Challenge
 Learning Through Lions
 What You Need To Know – Eye Glass Recycling/ReSpectacle

~ Meet and hear candidates running for the offices of District Governor, First Vice District Governor, Second Vice District Governor that your club’s delegates will vote on plus other possible issues that
might appear on the ballot.

~ Meet and Honor the District’s 2016-’17 Peace Poster Winner.

~ Clubs will have the opportunity to make their club’s donations to various Lions District, State, and
International projects or to be recognized for donations already given.

~ If your club is awarding a Melvin Jones Fellowship this year it can be presented at the Banquet.
