2020 Convention Guest Speaker

Lions International Director Larry Edwards
from Altoona, PA.

Larry L. Edwards, from Altoona, Pennsylvania, USA was elected to serve as international director of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 102nd International Convention, held in Milan, Italy, July 5 through July 9, 2019. Director Edwards retired in 2016 after working 45 years in the banking industry. As a former bank executive he directed operational requirements for nine large bank mergers as well as developed new commercial banking product lines and their supporting technologies. As a member of the Harris Township Lions Club since 2018, he first joined in 2005 as part of the Lakemont Lions Club. Director Edwards has held a number of offices within the association including multiple district council chairperson and as part of the multiple district State Convention Election Committee. He is also president of the Blair County Lions Sight Conservation Foundation. Read more about ID Larry....

      Parade of Banners

        All clubs are encouraged to participate in the Parade of Banners as the very first item on the Convention Agenda
        on Saturday.

        1. You will need to assemble for the Parade fifteen minutes before the "bell" to be a part of this event.
        2. Bring you banner, with stand and base, if you have them. If you do not have a stand or base, bring your banner anyway. Lion, PDG James has a few extra.

Silent Auction

We will be having a silent auction during the District Convention on Saturday, March 7, 2020.

Do you have something to donate for the auction we would love to have it.

Lots to bid on that would be great for your club supplies, for you or whatever that might spark your attention.

Profit from this auction will go to LCIF.

Hospitality Information

Friday, March 6, 2020 is always a fun night of meeting other Lions from the district & other areas. There will be a great selection of snacks, drinks & fun!

Meet ID Lary & his wife Susan from Altoona, PA.

Doors will open starting at 5:00 pm.

You can pick up your registion information at this time too instead of Saturday morning, but registration will also be open Saturday morning too.

        Service Projects During Convention

        Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center

        Is NEEDING new but small inexpensive toys/games from the $1 stores will be collected during the district convention at the hotel for their treasure chest at the cancer center. (Ex:  small cars, playdough, baby toys, dolls, stickers, balls, bubbles, crayons, stuffed animals, coloring books, crayons, etc.)

        Victory Mission Warehouse
        Instead of evening banquet we will be car pooling to the Victory Mission Warehouse to sort donated clothing &/or food.  Do you have clean unwanted clothes no longer needed at home?  Bring them!!  Bring your Lions vest (no vest? Wear a lion’s shirt)

Wine Down with ID

Join us after the Victory Mission Service Project on Saturday for a "Wine Down with ID" back at the University Plaza.

Did you think of a question or a concern that you have or during the convention, well he would love to talk to you more about your concerns or questions.

Come relax, have refreshments
& socialize more with other Lions.

We will be in the same rooms as the Friday night hospitality night.
