The M6 District Convention for 2021 is still proceeding with convention plans. It's been a hard year for allot of us and we are working on having a fun, learning more on Lions Club & giving a safe district convention for all Lions in our district to sounding Lion friends to join us.
The convention has been pushed to May 21 & 22, 2021 due to the COVID. All convention activities will be held at the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield, MO. Contact Convention Chairperson PDG Zana Botzow at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Allan J. Hunt, from Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada was elected to serve as international director of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 102nd International Convention, held in Milan, Italy, July 5 through July 9, 2019.
Director Hunt is retired after 34 years working with NAV CANADA. He was part of the team that saw NAV CANADA through a transition from government entity to not-for-profit corporation in 1996. During his career he was a manager at various levels of the Canadian air navigation system, at one point managing two air traffic control towers—one of them being the tallest in the world. A member of the Chilliwack Mount Cheam Lions Club since 1988, he first became a Lion in 1979 as part of the Sandspit Lions Club. He has held a number of offices within the association including multiple district council chairperson, GLT constitutional area leader, LCIF Constitutional Area Co-Chairperson and every club level office with the exception of Tail Twister. Director Hunt has also presented and moderated at several USA/Canada Lions Leadership forums. In recognition of his service, Director Hunt has received several International President’s Awards, an International President’s Leadership Award and the Life Membership Award. Always one to prioritize fellowship and community service, Director Hunt has held offices in a number of community organizations including president and chairperson of the board for his local YMCA as well as president and board chairperson of the Chilliwack & District Seniors Resources Society. Director Hunt is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and his wife, Sonja M. Hunt, is a Melvin Jones Fellow. Their daughter, Kristen, and son-in-law, Chad, are also Lions and proud parents to the Hunt’s granddaughter, Ella.

Hospitality night is always a fun relaxing time to meet the guest ID Larry Hunt or catch up with other fellow Lions. There is appetizers available to snack on through the night but no full course meal. Come comfortable with your jeans/pants, a lions shirt or vest.
The convention seminar's are still in the works to give you the best & learning more of Lions Club information for you to take back to your Lions Clubs.
All clubs are encouraged to participate in the Parade of Banners as the very first item on the Convention Agenda. You will need to assemble for the Parade fifteen minutes before the “bell” to be a part of this event. Bring you banner, with stand and base, if you have them. Running a holiday sale or weekly special? Definitely promote it here to get customers excited about getting a sweet deal.
We have planned a full course meal of a couple meat, 2 sides, & a dessert. For the banquet that night you may dress up more but it's not necessary.
We are still working on these, so keep checking back.
Club Secretaries remember that if you have members that are attending state or district Conventions, they MUST be registered with the district Cabinet Secretary or they will not be able to vote!
Each club in entitled to delegates based on number of members. You MUST also be current with dues with Lions International and your district!
